Attiki Odos Woman Drives in Emergency Lane Despite License Suspension
Traffic police arrested a 40yearold woman on Attiki Odos on the morning of Tuesday September 30 2025 after she was caught driving in the emergency lane even though her driving license had already been suspended a few days earlier for the same violation.
The traffic police clarified that the woman had committed the same offense just four days prior at which time she was administratively fined and her driving license was suspended for 40 days. However she repeated the offense on Attiki Odos in clear violation of the new traffic law.
Under the law a new fine of €1350 was imposed and her license was suspended for 18 months this time as the legislation stipulates harsher penalties for repeated traffic offenses especially those involving the misuse of the emergency lane designated for rescue and ambulance vehicles.
The case was referred to the competent public prosecutor to pursue legal proceedings against the woman while the police emphasized that driving in the emergency lane endangers drivers lives and obstructs ambulance teams confirming that they will continue their campaigns on Attiki Odos to control such violations.
