Greeceās Government Roadmap to 2027: Prime Ministerās Key Policies and Reforms
In a press conference during the Thessaloniki International Fair Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis revealed the governmentās roadmap until 2027 emphasizing the continuation of reforms and the strengthening of political and economic stability in Greece.
Continuity of Reforms:
Mitsotakis stated that the government will continue implementing the New Democracy program stressing āI will not abandon the reformsā and confirmed that all 2023 commitments will be fulfilled to boost the economy and achieve social justice.
Elections 2027:
The Prime Minister also affirmed that the election law will not be changed clarifying that the next national elections will take place as scheduled in 2027. He said āWe will win if we are a good governmentā confirming his commitment to the current term without any changes to electoral rules.
Foreign Policy:
Mitsotakis sent a clear message to Turkey saying: āCalm does not necessarily mean concessions and the casus belli must be abolished.ā He emphasized that Greece will continue cooperating with Cyprus to complete the electricity interconnection project.
Economy and Housing:
The Prime Minister addressed the government housing program which exceeds six billion euros noting that restrictions on shortterm rentals in Athens have proven effective. He highlighted the importance of increasing real wages after taxes to enhance household purchasing power.
Internal Balance and Party:
Mitsotakis reaffirmed party unity and the governmentās responsibility in addressing past mistakes. He stressed the importance of applying policies fairly and nationally while being prepared to face challenges and private interests that could influence political decisions.
